A Clever Fox and the Tempting Grape

Once, in a big forest with lots of trees, there was a clever fox. Everyone knew him for being sneaky and smart. It was a scorching summer day. He walked through the forest. And felt very hungry. He hadn’t eaten all day. He kept walking and found a vine laden with juicy grapes. The grapes looked delicious in the sunlight. The fox got excited and went closer to them. He was really hungry and wanted to eat them.

Fox’s Quest for the Grapes

The hungry fox leaped for the grape. They were too far away. He tried again and again. Each time, he couldn’t reach them. The fox felt frustrated. He didn’t want to give up. He stepped back and thought. “I must have those grapes,” he muttered to himself. He leaped repeatedly but couldn’t catch the grapes. Despite his efforts, the grapes remained out of reach. . With a mischievous grin, he spoke aloud to the grapes, “Oh, those grapes are sour anyway. I bet they’re not even worth the effort.”

Failure of the fox

The fox pretended not to care and walked away. After a few steps, he stopped and looked back at the grapes. He hoped his trick would work. He couldn’t convince himself otherwise; he really wanted the grapes. His pride stopped him from admitting defeat. With one last look, he huffed and walked away into the forest, still hungry.
