Introduction:
Hazrat Bishr Hafi, may God’s mercy be upon him, is among the pioneers (متقدّمین مشائخ). He was of high status and dignity. He was among the ancestors of Iraq and stayed in Baghdad. Hazrat Bashr Hafi, may God have mercy on him, was a follower of his maternal uncle, Ali Khaytram, a famous imam in Baghdad, Sharik, and hadith from Hamad bin Zaid, a Sunni, who was second to none in asceticism, piety, and austerity.Hazrat Bishr Hafi, may Allah have mercy on him, has been declared trustworthy by all Imams of Hadith. Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) heard the news of the death of Hazrat Bishr Hafi (may Allah have mercy on him) and said: He did not leave his example.
A person who hated Bashar Hafi:
Hazrat Bishr al-Shafi had great respect all the time. A businessman from Baghdad says that I did not like Bishr al-Shafi at all because he used to pray only in the mosque and used to pray at home. I used to say that if he is such a saint then the rest should read in the mosque. One day I thought that I was spying on him. It is Sunna Nafil to find out. I will read it later. Hazrat Bishr quickly went to a kebab shop and bought kebabs from there. I bought bread from the shop.
He took the kebab and bread and turned towards the forest. Then I thought that he is a very strange man. Now he will sit on the green and eat and drink. The slum came, the broken door of a dirt house was bolted from the outside, the feet of thousands of pilgrims walking barefoot in Baghdad opened the bolt, a paralyzed Babaji was sitting, Hazrat Bishr Hafi opened his turban from this man’s mouth. The water was coming out, the resin was dripping, he first cleaned his face with his turban, then poured water from a bowl and washed his face, then Hazrat put a cloth on his legs, broke a piece of bread and put it in his mouth and said, Baba, don’t be angry. I’m late on Friday, now I have to read Sunnah and Nawafil.
They say that it is too late for me not to be angry. That sage cried and said, “Man, I have been here for fourteen years, so the day comes. Fourteen years is the story of a century. It is not a matter of two or four years. It has been coming for 14 years. I don’t know how long.” When the dead body will be lying there, how long will it come? Then Basharhafi said, “Baba’s tears and tail, then don’t worry, after today, don’t say this sentence, ‘You are a burden for me.'” They think that I am doing Nawafl more and the world knows that my nightly glorification is stronger.
